ROOTED IN THE COMMUNITY
SHIFA360 was borne out of the need to close the gap in the socioeconomic equity for the refugee, immigrant and underserved communities of San Diego. The need for reskilling and upskilling was amplified during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our Community Health Workers (CHW)s had to pivot the way they served the community with agility by adapting new technology tools to reach the members who needed us the most. We are proud to draw from our experience working with the community, use of technology, data driven decisions and staff expertise to develop our curriculums using instructional design methods. Trust, cultural humility and sensitivity, soft and technical skills are needed for a successful CHW and MS program in any healthcare setting. SHIFA360 training programs bring unique perspective to understanding these elements in teaching based on our knowledge of community and the data we have been collecting for over 20 years.
